Congrats! Jennifer Lawrence gave birth to baby No. 1 with husband Cooke Maroney

Before welcoming her first child with the New York City gallerist, which TMZ was first to report, the Don’t Look Up actress, 31, kept her pregnancy very quiet. She revealed that she wants to “protect” her child’s “privacy” as much as possible.

“I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence, and I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work,” the Red Sparrow star previously told Vanity Fair in November 2021. The Kentucky native added that “every instinct in my body” wants to shelter her baby “for the rest of their lives.”

That being said, the Joy actress noted that she plans on staying hush-hush about her family life within reason. “If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’” she quipped.

The Silver Linings Playbook star’s rep confirmed her pregnancy in September 2021, and a source told In Touch at the time that Jennifer “couldn’t wait to be a mom.”

“[She’s] over the moon about being pregnant,” gushed the source, adding that keeping their big news under wraps was difficult for the Oscar winner.

“[When] they finally got the news, the good old-fashioned way with an at-home pregnancy test, [Jennifer] was ready to scream it from the rooftops,” the insider gushed. “Thankfully, Cooke is the more levelheaded of the two and told her to pump the breaks and wait until she was in at least her second trimester.”

The celebrity couple was thrilled to be planning for their bundle of joy. Although Jennifer didn’t “want to know the sex of the baby,” a separate source previously told Life & Style, she was having a blast planning her little one’s nursery

“She’s thought about decorating a nursery ever since her friends started having babies,” the source said about the X-Men actress, who had been “picking out neutral shades in cool, muted colors like tans, yellows, camel and beige.”

In addition, Jennifer loves adorable animals like “teddy bears, monkeys and cats,” so there was a good chance the fuzzy creatures would appear as “stuffed animals and art” around the nursery.

Of course, Cooke’s expansive art career, their child is bound to have the “best baby art collection in all of New York,” added the second source.
