Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Didn’t Get Back Together Because of “Trust Issues” (EXCLUSIVE)

Before Jennifer Lopez began dating Drake in December, fans were convinced that the brunette beauty would get back together with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. So what happened?

A source tells Life & Style that the 47-year-old began having second thoughts about a possible reconciliation after they discussed remarrying. “She was having major doubts because of the trust issues she’s always had with Marc,” the source reveals of the mom-of-two, who shares eight-year-old twins Max and Emme with the Latin pop singer. “[She] didn’t want to put the kids through the emotional turmoil of possibly getting back together with their dad if it wasn’t on solid ground.”

But that hasn’t stopped the 48-year-old from pining over the Shades of Blue actress. “[He] is absolutely devastated about her romance with Drake,” the insider says of Marc, who’s in the process of getting divorced from wife Shannon De Lima. “Marc hoped he was going to have a chance to get back with Jennifer after he officially filed [papers].”

The insider adds, “[He] has never stopped loving her. He wants her back.”

For the time being, however, the duo remains close. “Jennifer and Marc continue to talk and are very good friends,” the source shares. “Marc is going to be a constant presence in her life and hopes that this fling with Drake just fizzles out. Jennifer is a hopeless romantic and Marc is praying that once the honeymoon phase of dating Drake is over, she will come back to him.”

And the pair’s relationship is already showing strain. At the end of last month, the rapper was spotted out to dinner with porn star Rosee Divine while in Amsterdam, causing fans to wonder if the superstar couple had called it quits.
