You go, girl! Jessie James Decker isn't about making apologies for her post-baby body. In fact, after giving birth to a baby boy — Forrest Decker — on April 2, the now mother-of-three is reflecting on her pregnancy journey with the world. Posting a selfie to Instagram on April 26, Jessie opened up about her recovery.
"Three weeks post and I’m still very swollen. The 3rd has been by far the hardest recovery, but I’m feeling stronger every day," she began her caption.
Despite her struggle, she reassured fans that, "Little Forrest is such an amazing baby and the easiest one of the three." The 30-year-old was an open book over the past nine months and feels that shouldn't change, "I’ve updated you all throughout my entire pregnancy and how much my tummy/baby were growing monthly so I felt like I should share where I’m at post baby. It sure is incredible what the body can do and I’m so grateful!"
In November 2017, Jessie spoke to Life & Style about many of the double standards women face, especially as mothers. "There are so many women on social media that are taking pictures of them completely naked and showing their boobs, showing just everything — but if I show a picture of breastfeeding, it's like crazy," she explained. "I just feel like for me, it's such a double standard and I think there should be acceptance of everything."
Jessie continues to advocate that same acceptance of everything by choosing to focus on what really matters — the baby! Concluding in her post, "I know I say this after each baby, but remember what our bodies just [went] through for nine months and be proud, don’t stress over post-baby body, just enjoy your new baby because these are beautiful moments and memories you will cherish forever."
