One step at a time…and so far, so good! Jordin Sparks — who is expecting her first child, a baby boy with husband Dana Isaiah — opened up exclusively to Life & Style about her pregnancy and her excitement over first-time motherhood. According to the 28-year-old American Idol alum, carrying her bundle of joy has been relatively easy.

"It's been good! It's been really good actually. I didn't have any morning sickness!" Jordin recently told us as she kicked off the "Lay’s Smiles Experience" in NYC to help launch the Smiles with Lay’s program. "So it was nice to be able to eat food and keep it down."

Still, the "No Air" songstress hasn’t experienced many pregnancy cravings. In fact, she told Life & Style that food has lost its appeal in her second trimester. "I thought I'd be eating everything, but instead my second trimester hit and I lost my appetite. I know I have to eat, so I'll go and look at things like, 'OK, I know I'll like this and it'll taste good,' but it's hard for me to be like, 'OK, food,'" she said. "I used to be like, 'Yes! Let's go there! Let's go there! Let's do all this!' So that's been a little bit different."

Also different? Jordin’s gym routine. "It hasn't been the same as it was before. I was going three or four times a week," the expectant singer said. “Then fatigue and just being tired and you have to listen to your body and where it's at, especially in this kind of state and being pregnant. There are days when I'm like, 'Yeah babe, let's go!' and we go really hard. Then there are days when I'm like, 'OK, I'll see you later. Have a good time.'"

This is our 'eye of the tiger' face after we beast our workout. It's one of my favorite faces Dana does. 😄 Little man really wanted to stick out today! 🦋 (also, fanny pack on deck!!) Do you have a workout partner or prefer to workout alone?

While pregnancy has been full of unexpected turns, Jordin — who secretly tied the knot with Dana, 25, in July 2017 — is sure about one thing: she can’t wait to be a mom. "I have no idea what kind of mom I'm gonna be. I’ve never done it before! But I know I love kids, I've always had an affinity towards kids and being around them and their energy, just all of that. For me, I'm excited," she gushed to Life & Style. "There are so many unknowns that I'm like, 'OK, we'll see what's happening.' But I've always been that way. I've always kind of flown by the seat of my pants, so we'll see how it goes."

As part of the Smiles with Lay’s program, its mission is to help spread smiles across the nation. Lay’s is releasing specially designed bags featuring infectious smiles and now fans can purchase these limited-edition bags and also have the opportunity to create a custom Lay’s bag featuring their own smile on their website.
