Beliebers can’t believe it! Justin Bieber is pretty big fan of tattoos and he’s constantly adding to his collection. But his fans are on the fence about whether or not they like his new ink after he took to Instagram on Saturday, Oct. 21 to show off his latest piece — which is his biggest one yet, and now his artist Bang Bang is opening up about the meaning of the new ink. Watch the video below to see Justin’s newest tattoo.

Fans flooded the comments, and many of them seemed to be upset that Justin decided to get such a big tattoo on his body. “I really hope you won’t do any more tattoos. Please no more,” one fan wrote. Others expressed their shock, writing “What the hell are you doing?” and “WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU JUSTIN [sic]” in the comments.

But others are super supportive of his decision to add more tattoos. One fan wrote, “You look amazing with these tattoos,” and another commented, “Don’t let people take away your happiness by criticizing your tattoos.”

The new tattoo is placed right over his huge “Son of God” tattoo that he got back in 2016, so the new ink — which is a black and grey depiction of gargoyles, skeletons, and archways — seems like it was designed to be a coverup of the previous tat, but Bang Bang denied that anything was covered up.

“He said he wanted me to cover his front, so I sent him a bunch of options,” Bang Bang told E! News. “They were all religious in subject. I explained to him that the whole front should be one idea. I didn’t actually cover anything. There are no cover-ups.”

“We added two angels, one on each side,” he continued. “Below each one, they’re dominating the evil. Whenever I do an epic piece, there needs to be the positive and negative. There needs to be a balance…visually there needs to be contrast. Below each of the angels, there is a demon that needs to be defeated. The skeleton on one side and the serpent on the other.”

Justin’s newest piece is the latest in his collection — he now has more than 60 different pieces all over his body. The 23-year-old opened up about his affinity for tattoos in an interview with GQ last year, and he revealed which ones are his favorites.

“This one means a lot to me, it’s my mom’s eye,” he said as he pointed to the tattoo on the inner part of his left arm. He has a lot of tattoos dedicated to his family, including his mom’s birthday in Roman numerals on his chest and a matching father-son tattoo on the side of his left rib cage.
