The news seemed seriously out of the blue when it broke that Justin Bieber had proposed to Hailey Baldwin. The couple were just one of a few whirlwind romances to emerge this summer when they got engaged within just a few weeks of dating. And as pop culture enthusiasts tried to get on board, the couple spawned conspiracy theories and relationship timelines to try and put the puzzle pieces together, especially once the news broke that the couple had allegedly gotten legally married. But now, the Biebs’ mom, Pattie Mallette, has just one thing to say to all of the fans and followers who can’t keep Justin’s name out of their mouths.

“Haters gonna hate,” she tweeted the day after the alleged legal ceremony, adding the hashtag #LoveWins. “Love is unconditional,” she had tweeted the day before early in the morning. Had she known that her son and new daughter-in-law were planning to head down to the courthouse that day and make things all legal and official? Or was that just one of her usual tweets that share messages of love and acceptance and wisdom? The fact that she pinned it certainly gives credence to the first theory. Pinning a tweet may not be the most conventional way of marking an anniversary, but hey, this is hardly a conventional family.

The news about the marriage broke last week when People reported that inside sources had revealed that the couple tied the knot at a courthouse on Thursday, September 13th. “They went ahead and did it without listening to anyone,” the source told People. The couple was even spotted the couple heading into a courthouse together. And though Hailey seemed to deny the news, other sources insisted that what she had to say was more of a pedantic thing than a complete shutdown. That theory was only bolstered when she deleted the tweet.

“I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” the model posted on Friday, September 14th, before taking it down. That might just back up what a religious source shared with People, clarifying that the couple didn’t think of legally getting married at a courthouse as the same thing as having a big religious ceremony and party. They’re wedding plans are still on, but they’re more long-term plans. “They’re going to have a big blowout, in front of God and everyone they love,” the source revealed.

The planning might take a minute, but the party is still 100% on. “Justin is in a really good place, and has been telling friends he’s never felt more sure about a woman in his life,” a source told Entertainment Tonight back in July. “[They] are on the same page about their faith and what they both want out of their future together. It took some time for Justin and Hailey to get back together, but the couple knows it was worth the wait.”
