Staying positive. Kelly Clarkson is “keeping herself busy” amid divorce proceedings from estranged husband Brandon Blackstock, a source exclusively tells Life & Style“Kelly loves being busy! This is everything she has ever wanted.”

According to the insider, the “Stronger” artist, 38, “feels like hosting and judging” television programs — including The Voice and stepping in for Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent — “shows off her fun personality and that makes her feel confident.”

Kelly’s onscreen talents are “what she loves most about herself,” says the source. “So it’s therapeutic for her.” However, the American Idol winner’s loved ones aren’t entirely convinced putting her career first is the best move right now.

“Friends are concerned she’s taking on too much. It’s such a tough time for her personally with so much change,” the insider explains. “Her split from Brandon has been so painful, and there’s been a lot of shuffling with the children, so it’s a lot to figure out.”

Kelly and Brandon, who share children River, 5, and Remington, 4, were married for nearly seven years before the Grammy winner filed for divorce on June 4, according to documents obtained by Life & Style. Kelly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

Over the years, the Texas native “has been open about her history with depression,” the source recalls. “Friends just want to make sure she is taking care of herself through this time. She’s telling them she is and that this is the best thing that could happen. Keeping herself busy keeps her happy.”

For Brandon’s part, the 43-year-old talent manager seemingly wants to keep the peace. On July 21, he responded to Kelly’s divorce petition to seek joint legal and physical custody of River and Remington, as per court documents obtained by Life & Style.

Moreover, both parties listed “to be determined” as the date of separation. As far as Kelly and Brandon’s prenuptial agreement is concerned, the talk show host asked the court to deny any request for spousal support and enforce what was filed prior to their wedding in 2013.
