Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Have One Last Embryo for Baby No. 4 — and It’s a Boy!
They already have three beautiful children, but it turns out that if Kim Kardashian and Kanye West want to have a fourth, they’ve only got one more shot. “[They] have one last embryo left,” a Kardashian insider revealed to Us Weekly. And that one embryo is apparently male, meaning the couple would be gearing up for another boy. According to Us‘ sources, the couple is planning on having him “soon.” While Kim had both of their first two children, North and Saint West, naturally, she had to go through a different process with her third, Chicago. And they’d do the same with a fourth baby.
Because of past complications with both of her high-risk pregnancies, including infertility, preeclampsia, and placenta accreta, the couple ended up using a surrogate to carry their child. And though everything turned out well and Chicago is like the most beautiful baby we’ve ever laid eyes on, it wasn’t an easy path to get there. “If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that,” Kim told cameras on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians before moving forward with plans to have a third child. Surrogacy, however, came with its own challenges.
“Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong,” the reality star told Entertainment Tonight. “I think it is so much harder to go through it this way because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously, you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still… knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. It’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”
There was also the issue of waiting to see if everything would turn out fine, especially in the early stages when the embryo has been implanted in the surrogate but before they know if it’s taken yet. Especially considering the couple had lost an embryo before. “Before Kimberly got pregnant with Saint she had an embryo implanted in her and that embryo did not take,” Khloé Kardashian revealed on the show. “So Kim is super nervous and anxious during this waiting period.”
With just one embryo remaining, Kim and Kanye only have one more chance at another kid if they don’t want to or can’t undergo the rigorous process of making more again. Having another boy and a little brother for Saint would bring back some balanace to the fam, though — and Kim’s always wanted a big family. “I’d love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” Kim said on KUWTK after her robbery scare in Paris. We’re crossing our fingers that she has that now — and that if she wants another boy for baby number four, all works out well.
