After months of silence following their split, Lady Gaga is speaking out about her broken engagement with Christian Carino. While performing in Vegas on Sunday, June 2, the “Bad Romance” singer finally gave fans a glimpse into how she was feeling — and we’re just not sure what to think.

Mid-concert, Gaga, 33, dropped the bomb. Just before launching into her rendition of “Someone to Watch Over Me,” she revealed, “Last time I sang this song, I had a ring on my finger, so it’ll be different this time.” Talk about a statement. Though it’s not clear exactly whether the star was excited about difference or grieving it, she was clearly feeling some type of way. And considering the song is about trying to find love with “a certain lad” and how the singer needs him to “watch over” her, that makes total sense.

But the singer has hardly been sitting around pining for her ex. Since the split, she’s fueled romance rumors with her A Star Is Born costar Bradley Cooper in an emotional Oscars performance, shut down those rumors and then been linked to actor Jeremy Renner after they were spotted “hanging out” and growing “close.” Christian, 51, hasn’t been wasting any time, either. After Gaga reportedly told him not to contact her, he’s moving on — or at least trying to. In May 2019, he was seen sporting some fresh ink, and later that month he shared cryptic Instagram posts about a new mystery lady.

Though Gaga’s little monster speculated that the posts might actually be about the “Poker Face” singer (it didn’t help that his tattoo was of a playing card), other fans did their best to debunk those theories. “You guys, stop! He has a girlfriend now. He moved on as you should too,” read one comment on a post. “Guys, move on, please. It’s been since February. Stop hating,” added another. Like Gaga, Christian also hadn’t publicly commented on the breakup — but now that she’s speaking out, maybe he’ll have something to say, too.
