It looks like there may be some tension between father-daughter duo Lionel and Sofia Richie. The 19-year-old didn’t attend the Kennedy Center Honors that went down on Sunday, Dec. 3, where her dad, among other world-famous singers, was honored. While it wasn’t confirmed why Sofia skipped out on the prestigious ceremony — which her older sister Nicole attended — there’s been speculation of bad blood ever since she started dating 34-year-old Scott Disick.

The awards are among some of the highest honors for artists, so we imagine 68-year-old Lionel would’ve wanted his youngest child in attendance. Just recently, Life & Style spoke with the 68-year-old about his daughter’s relationship. “I’m scared to death about anybody dating anybody,” he joked. The father-of-three clearly doesn’t see the romance as permanent. “C’mon, she’s 19. She’s going to go take the turn and get through it and come out the other side… It will course itself.”

But, if you ask Scott and Sofia, it’s only going to get more serious from here on out. As Life & Style recently revealed, the duo is already talking marriage! “Scott would spend 24 hours a day with Sofia if he could,” an insider said. Sofia has even been spotted sporting a ring on THAT finger, fueling engagement rumors.

Though the couple has only been dating for about two months, they’re already making plans to move in together — much against the wishes of the Richie fam. “Lionel told Sofia to wait a little longer and not to move in,” an insider shared. “Nicole flat-out told her sister, ‘You’re making a big mistake.’ They [both feel] it’s way too soon to move in with him.” Scott, on the other hand, is more than happy to settle down.

According to In Touch, the famous playboy loves the freedom his teen girlfriend is giving him. “Kourtney and the Kardashians always tried to control Scott, unlike Sofia, who gives him the freedom he needs and lets him be himself,” a source said. “Scott feels that Sofia is the only person who understands him.”
