These are some serious allegations. Mama June (real name: June Shannon) took to Twitter on Friday, January 5 to tweet along with fans during a special episode before the upcoming Season 2 premiere of her WeTV series Mama June: From Not to Hot, and while she was recapping everything that happened during Season 1, she revealed a harrowing detail about the abuse that her 17-year-old daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon endured at the hands of her ex Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson.

In the From Not to Hot special episode titled “Burning Questions,” June and her daughters sat down to answer fan questions and re-live some of the highlights from the previous season, and they touched on one of the most shocking moments which happened during the reunion special. During a heated argument between Mama June, Sugar Bear, and his new wife Jennifer Lamb over custody of Sugar Bear and Mama June’s 12-year-old daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Sugar Bear got extremely violent and walked off the set — and he quickly turned his anger towards June’s teenage daughter. Sugar Bear lunged towards Lauryn in a threatening way, and a bodyguard had to come in between them and hold Lauryn back from charging back at him.

“You only got to see a little piece of the confrontation. If I [sic] bodyguard would have let Pumpkin go she would have hurt Sugar Bear bad,” Mama June wrote on Twitter. “She took a lot of the physical and emotional abuse and has a lot of hurt from it.”

“And yes, y’all will see more Jennifer and Sugar Bear and what is going on with the situation with Alana,” the 38-year-old continued. “There’s a lot of emotional stuff to [this] season and I can’t wait to share it with y’all.”

Be sure to catch the Season 2 premiere of Mama June: From Not to Hot, airing Friday, January 12 on WeTV.
