Even though Mariah Carey‘s new album Caution isn’t exactly shaking up the charts, that doesn’t exactly mean that Mariah is worried. And that’s only because she can expect another massive paycheck thanks to her 1994 classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Chances are you’ve heard Mariah’s Christmas song played on a loop at every retail store on the planet this year, and in years prior. And according to The Economist, this little jingle has earned the 48-year-old over $60 million since the song’s released. Mariah even earns a solid $500,000 in royalties every year in the UK. But that’s not all, Mariah even reels in cash from streaming services she’s allowed to play the song. All thanks to that Christmas song that everyone decides to blast as soon as the calendar hits December.

It’s quite a bit of change for a song that Mariah claims she only wrote in 15 minutes with producer Walter Afanasieff, and for a song that has never appeared in the top of the charts in America. It has just appeared in the top of the charts of every Christmas party you have attended and will ever attend for the rest of your festive life. Recently, Mariah shared a video of her twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, both seven, singing the song along with her.

We’re pretty sure her kids now have to pay their mom for allowing them to sing her song. We think that’s how things work. Mariah captioned the video, “Roc and Roe have been practicing the background vocals to ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ we’re gonna take this one step at a time — we’re very excited about it! It’s our first video doing this! It’s festive, c’mon!!”

For those who aren’t fans of the song, you soon won’t have to hear it again until next Christmas. Or at least not until stores begin decorating for Christmas 2019 in August.
