All she wants for Christmas is to feel better! Mariah Carey earned the title of the Queen of Christmas after her 1994 hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” became an instant holiday classic, but her health is preventing her from basking in the glory during this holiday season. On Thursday, Nov. 23, she took to Instagram to announce that she is still recovering from an upper respiratory infection and she is being forced to postpone her All I Want For Christmas Is You worldwide tour.

“I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones; it’s certainly nice to remember what we are grateful for! Like most, I’m thankful for my overall health…for which I need a bit more time to get right,” the 47-year-old wrote. “Doctors have ordered a few extra days of rest before I can finally fly to New York and take the stage for my Christmas Tour. While this news disappoints me to share, I am grateful to be on the mend and for the support from all of you — it means the world to me! See you from the stage soon darlings!”

Her fans — who are lovingly referred to as her “Lambs” — flooded the comments section with words of support and well wishes for their queen. “Get well soon Mimi,” one fan wrote, and another commented, “I love you so much Mariah…pls [sic] take enough rest and get healthy.”

She was originally supposed to kick off her tour on Nov. 17, but she announced that she would be pushing the dates back on Nov. 15 when she revealed that she had come down with an upper respiratory infection just as she was getting over the flu. On Thanksgiving, the mom-of-two — she shares six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon — admitted to fans in a previous Instagram post that she was still feeling “under the weather,” but she’ll have another week to rest before her tour officially starts on Dec. 2 in NYC.
