Better luck next time? Mario Lopez admitted to Closer Weekly exclusively that his two kids — Gia, 8, and Dominic, 5 — are not fans of his hit ‘90s sitcom Saved by the Bell.

“I tried showing it to them, they don’t like it,” the 45-year-old said while promoting his Mario Lopez collection, which consists of men’s watches, jewelry and shoes. “They aren’t into it.” However, the dad of two is trying to be optimistic that they will like it in the future. “We will see, hopefully!” he said.

So, would the TV personality be up for doing a reboot? “I mean, I got a lot on my plate as far as the reboot but always open to it,” he revealed. “If for some reason the schedule clears up, and it would be a fun premise. But we are a little too old for high school.”

But Mario has another idea — maybe his kiddos could reprise some of the iconic roles in the future. “Too bad my kids aren’t older — Gia would be great, so would Nico actually,” he said.

Even though the show has been off the air for over 25 years, the cast is still super close. “I mean, I talk to them all pretty often,” the California native admitted. “We have all of our kids and families, so it’s just like real high school — you see each other when you can see each other.”

In April, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario, Elizabeth Berkley and Tiffani Thiessen — along with their significant others — enjoyed a mini-reunion dinner in California. “This is what 30+ years of friendship looks like …” Mark-Paul captioned a photo of the gang back together.

Meanwhile, the entertainment journalist is gearing up to be a dad of three. Mario and his wife, Courtney Lopez, don’t know the sex of the baby just yet but are ready to meet the new addition. “Oh, super excited and also excited to find out what we’re having because we wait with all of our kids to find out until the birth, so it’s kind of cool,” Mario said. “But we got one of each, so, it’s now just the tiebreaker.”

Mario is also super busy with his next endeavor — creating a fashion line. “I always wanted to get into this space, and I was excited to finally be able to launch it,” he said referring to the collection. “I just wanted something sort of cool and everyday but a little stylish, a little Latin flavor, which just kind of represents me. I love the way it turned out.”

Well, hopefully, his kids will become obsessed with Saved by the Bell one day!
