Brooke Burke-Charvet is now in a loving relationship with husband and actor David Charvet, but there’s still something she regrets — her first divorce.

“I regret having a marriage that didn’t work, because divorce is ‘forever’ for children,” says the Dancing With the Stars host, who was previously married to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher [pictured below].

The pair have two daughters: Neriah and Sierra.

“I regret that my two oldest daughters have to grow up knowing that sometimes a family falls apart. That’s my heartbreaking life lesson.”

But she’s greatful to have found love again with David [pictured below], with whom she has daughter Heaven and son Shaya.

“I’m happy that they can see love now,” she tells New You magazine, on stands now.

And at 42-years-old, Brooke says she feels better than ever.

“Forties started out a little bit rough because there have been some challenging life issues,” she reveals.

In November 2012, the model announced she had thyroid cancer and underwent surgery.

The operation proved successful, and she was cleared just one month later.

“Physically I feel better today than I did in my thirties. I feel like there is a number of reasons: I know myself better. I have boundaries, a louder voice and I know myself as a woman.

“I know my body better, how to dress my body and I have a better sense of style. I am also more experienced.”

Not to mention, her big and supportive family makes her feel complete.

“I feel more accomplished because I have a family and I’m very lucky to be in a loving marriage with a man that I’m in love with and he’s in love with me and that’s like amazing so in that I find beauty.”
