Viewers are boycotting Jimmy Kimmel Live after the late show host took a jab at First Lady of the United States Melania Trump by making fun of her Russian accent in a skit. Outraged fans started an online petition which quickly reached its goal of 50,000 signatures and the backlash reignited a feud between Jimmy Kimmel and Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Earlier this week, Jimmy aired a segment on his show where he spoofed Melania's activity at the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House, where she read an Easter book out loud to a group of children. Jimmy took a jab at the way Melania pronounced the words "this" and "that," which sounded more like "dees" and dat" — which angered viewers.

"On Monday night, left-wing host Jimmy Kimmel showed his true bigotry by mocking the way our First Lady was reading a children's book during the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House. In the past he has claimed to be loving and accepting of all immigrants, but he openly made fun of her accent and his crowd laughed along. He even reenacted the way she says 'this and that.' Then, he told his immigrant counterpart, Guillermo, that he too could be First Lady. This was clearly a shot at her accent," the petition read. As of publication, the petition had recieved more than double of it goal of 50,000 signatures.

Jimmy has yet to respond to the backlash, but he did engage in a Twitter war with Sean, who slammed Jimmy for poking fun at Melania's accent. After going back and forth with the Fox News host, Jimmy decided to end their feud and he posted an apology. "While I admit I did have fun with our back and forth, after some thought, I realize that the level of vitriol from all sides (mine and me included) does nothing good for anyone and, in fact, is harmful to our country," Jimmy tweeted.
