What Is Miley Cyrus’ Diet? 

From 2013 to 2019, the “Flowers” artist kept to a strict vegan lifestyle, which she opened up about during a September 2020 interview on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. 

“I was vegan for a very long time, and I’ve had to introduce fish and omegas into my life because my brain wasn’t functioning properly,” Miley explained, referring to the reason why she quit the vegan diet. 

“I’m so much sharper than I was, and I think that I was, at one point, pretty [malnourished],” she admitted, adding that it felt like she was “running on empty” while performing at the Glastonbury Music Festival in 2019.

Though she gave up the diet, the Happy Hippie Foundation founder confessed she felt guilty for eating fish once she switched to a pescatarian lifestyle. 

“I cried, like, for a long time. I cried for the fish, it really hurts me to eat fish,” she explained. “I have 22 animals on my farm in Nashville, I’ve got 22 in my house in Calabasas, I’m doing all I need to do for the animals. But when it comes to my brain, you can’t be vegan and be this quick.”

As for the eating habits she has now, Miley noted during her 2020 interview, “I’m experimenting a lot with my diet, and my body, and my routine and my exercise right now.” 

Miley’s godmother, Dolly Parton, revealed some of her favorite foods while talking to Insider in February 2023. “Miley and I both love Southern food, like mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a big ol’ hunk of cornbread — making cornbread muffins or a big pan of it with the squares,” the “Jolene” singer shared at the time.

However, Dolly added that she no longer cooks for Miley as much as she used to because the “Climb” singer has become “a little more picky.”

Dolly continued, “Miley’s trying to watch what she eats now — she’s gone through a lot of phases of being vegetarian or being vegan or whatever. But in the earlier days, or when her defences are down, we still eat that good ol’ food like meatloaf.”

What Is Miley Cyrus’ Workout? 

Aside from nutrition, the Grammy Award winner also follows a strong fitness routine, including doing yoga, Pilates and core training, which fans got a glimpse of in her viral 2023 “Flowers” music video

During one point in the video, Miley jumps into her pool for a swim before starting an outdoor workout that looks intense, from using ropes to build arm strength to performing Spiderman push-ups and burpees. 

Did Miley Cyrus Have an Eating Disorder? 

In 2012, the former Disney Channel superstar took to Twitter to address fan speculation that she developed an eating disorder in order to stay thin. 

“For everyone calling me anorexic, I have a gluten and lactose allergy,” the “Can’t Be Tamed” artist tweeted. “It’s not about weight, it’s about health. Gluten is crapppp anyway [sic]!”

Miley also followed up on her statement in a separate tweet by replying to her sister Noah Cyrus, “U saw how much I ate today at Easter lunch [sic]. But all of it was healthy and even more fulfilling! Health is happiness!”

In a final tweet at the time, the Last Song actress suggested for her fans to try out the gluten-free diet. 

“Everyone should try no gluten for a week,” Miley wrote. “The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing! U won’t go back [sic]!”
