Unless you live under a literal rock, it’s likely that you’ve heard the sad news about Miley Cyrus and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, calling it quits. In the days since, a lot (and we mean A LOT) has gone down — ahem, photos of the pop star, 26, canoodling with Brody Jenner’s newly minted ex Kaitlynn Carter. However, perhaps the most exciting development yet, came on Monday, August 12, when Miley decided to upload a recording studio selfie.

Just because the former Disney Channel star didn’t write a caption for the snapshot, doesn’t mean that fans haven’t already started developing some theories about Miley releasing new music — specifically about her breakup.

“‘Wrecking Ball’ 2.0 is coming!” one person exclaimed on Twitter. “Our single pop star is about to make her debut. OMG! I’m not ready,” added another. A third user chimed in with, “OMG a heartbreak anthem is on the way!” while a fourth wrote, “That’s what we are talking about! Yes, Miley, yes!”

As you can tell, most of Miley’s diehard supporters are A-OK with her and Liam, 29, going their separate ways. However, a handful of people are pretty upset about it. After all, if a couple as beautiful as those two can’t make it, what does that mean for the rest of us?

“Losing all hope after hearing that Miley and Liam broke up again,” someone tweeted following the news. “Miley and Liam are dunzo?!? Cancel everything I’ve ever scheduled so I can mourn appropriately” echoed another.

Sigh. We hear that. Unfortunately, Liam does, too. “You don’t understand what it’s like,” the actor told Daily Mail Australia when he broke silence on the split. “I don’t want to talk about it, mate.”

Hang in there, Liam!
