Mindy Kaling’s Huge Baby Bump Is the Talk of Instagram!
There’s no hiding this baby bump anymore! After keeping her pregnancy a secret, Mindy Kaling is now flaunting her growing belly on social media — and we couldn’t be happier for the mom-to-be. She gave fans the first clear look at her tummy on Nov 2, with a photo celebrating the last day of filming for the last season of The Mindy Project
“How I look recording Mindy Lahiri’s lines. ‘Exsqueeze me, sir?!?!'” she captioned the photo, acknowledging her huge bump with the hashtag “#laterbaby!” “Awwww you look adorable pregnant!” said one excited fan, while another agreed, writing “LOOK AT THAT BUMP OMFGOOOOOODDDD!”
The pregnancy photo is an exciting change of pace for fans, since Mindy really hasn’t shown or spoken much about her pregnancy. The Mindy Project star confirmed that she’s expecting her first child, later revealed to be a girl, during an interview with William Geist on the Today show. “I’m excited. Yeah it’s so unknown to me. I’m kind of, I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I’m like, ‘Ok, it’s out of my hands,’ which is kind of fun,” she said.
The 38-year-old also teased, “It’s so easy to criticize parenting until you’re a parent. So, one of the nice things about becoming a parent is that I’ll be able to openly criticize other parenting because I will have a child.”

Mindy has yet to reveal who the baby’s father is or if she used a sperm donor, but she’ll be following the example her late mother, Swati Roysircar, set. “My mom was incredibly fierce and so devoted to us, just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did,” the actress has said. “My career choice was not something that she was familiar with and she was just so supportive of that. And if I could give that to my child, just that open-mindedness, I’d be so happy.”
