Mindy Kaling’s Due Date Is Sooner Than We All Expected, and She’s Having A…
She’s gonna be a mom sooner than we all thought! Mindy Kaling shocked fans when she confirmed her pregnancy last month and even though she hasn’t revealed too much information about baby No. 1, her co-stars are more than willing to spill the tea! Just two after Mindy’s A Wrinkle in Time co-star Oprah Winfrey gave away revealing details about her upcoming due date, now her Mindy Project co-stars have revealed the gender of her baby!
Beth Grant, who plays Beverly Janoszewski on the hit TV series, was the first to reveal that Mindy is expecting a baby girl and she gushed over how excited she is for her co-star. “I’m just thrilled out of my mind! I cried like a baby and that it’s a girl…I just think that she’s up to it,” she revealed to Us Weekly. “I just think that she’s ready and I’m very happy for her because I have a daughter that’s turning 25 and it’s just the greatest thing in the world!”
Mindy’s other co-star, Ed Weeks, who plays Dr. Jeremy Reed, also gushed about how special it is that Mindy will be a mother to a daughter. “We were so thrilled for her,” he said. “The show started as a tribute to her mother, who very sadly passed away just as the show is being picked up, and it ends with her having a daughter of her own.”
And her baby girl will be arriving in no time! Back in July, Oprah revealed to People that Mindy was five months along — which means that her due date would be sometime this November. Mindy seems to be so excited, and she said that she looks up to her own mother, Swati Roysircar —who passed away from pancreatic cancer five years ago — as a role model.
“My mom was incredibly fierce and so devoted to us, just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did,” Mindy said in an interview on Sunday Today. “My career choice was not something that she was familiar with and she was just so supportive of that. And if I could give that to my child, just that open-mindedness, I’d be so happy.”
