She Speaks!Nina Dobrev Breaks Silence Over Ex Ian Somerhalder’s Wedding to Nikki Reed
Nina Dobrev wants us to know that she’s not leaving The Vampire Diaries because of ex and co-star Ian Somerhalder. In fact, she’s SO happy for the newlywed, whose wedding to actress Nikki Reed, 26, took place last month.
In a sit-down interview with E!‘s Maria Menounos, the 26-year-old was asked whether the former couple’s split in 2013 had anything to do with her unexpected departure at the end of season 6.

“I’ve said this before, that we didn’t break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn’t love or friendship,” she said.
“I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he’s great and I care about him. And that didn’t change. Yes, we’re professional and that’s fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now.”

As for the 36-year-old’s nuptials, which took place on April 26 in Malibu, Nina shared, “When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I don’t see why there should be a problem with that.”
The brunette beauty added, “The drama is in the media, it’s not with us. But of course, we’re on a teen drama show, everyone’s going to look for drama. If there’s no drama, there’s nothing to write about. I just ignore it.”
The duo, who dated for nearly three years, have played love interests on the hit CW series since it premiered in 2009. Sorry, TVD fans. Delena will now just be a distant memory!
