This is the Olsens how we know them today: chic, minimalist couture witches. And while we give props to Mary-Kate for showing off a scandalous two inches of leg, Ashley and her pearls are really showing how elegant a sorceress can be.

Not really flattering on either of them. However, what's particularly weird about this photoset as a whole is that Ashley is sticking out her non-butt in a series of pictures, really raising a lot of questions. So yeah, we're going to give this one to Mary-Kate for not doing that. The red also helps.

OK. These are some seriously wacked out proportions, even by Olsen standards. And we're amazed that Ashley doesn't know the first rule of pencil skirts: you never pair with a loose, overlapping top. Amateur hour, here. Team Mary-Kate, all the way.

Really one of their cutest looks (and we surely had variations of this ensemble in our closets as kids). However, Mary-Kate and that name tag presents a sense of insecurity in the lime light, while Ashley's label-less looks simply states, "I am." And for that, she takes this round.

Mary-Kate and Ashley in This Tweenage Disappointment

Two things. One: the pastels, grandma cardigans, and maxi skirt combo are all very Buffy Season 3. Two: Both of the girls have seriously turn-of-the-millennium hair. But while Ashley's long flips overwhelms the already covered-up ensemble, Mary-Kate delivers a freshness with that choppy shag cut. Get it, girl.

Damn, honestly, they both look great, it's a real Sophie's Choice here. It's down to a hair…literally. We're gonna give Ashley this one, since while we appreciate Mary-Kate's pin-straight mane, it's Ashley's tousled curls that keep this look fun.

Mary-Kate and Ashley in Looking Casual and Neutral

Wow, this is pretty much the early 2000s Mary-Kate and Ashley doll set, right? Where Mary-Kate gets the smile with the teeth and Ashley gets the fuller-lipped closed mouth smile? Or was it the other way around? Anyway, while the girls aren't technically wearing the same outfit from the waist down, the complimentary outfits are clashed by the fact that Ash looks physically pained. May-Kate wins this one.

Mary-Kate and Ashley are Unable to Pick a Season

Though done right, all the elements of these outfits (the black velvet, the white tights the flower crowns, the goldilocks hair) would look right on two tiny Courtney Loves. And yet the length and those shoes make this a true casualty of the '90s. Nobody wins, and may God have mercy on their tiny souls.

Inspired. Uh, we don't think the pulled back hair and buttoned-to-the-top thing is doing Mary-Kate and favors. Ashley's looser look has a more effortless feel.
