We love some good parenting advice this time of year! And that’s exactly what Paul ” DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio delivered on tonight’s new episode of Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Now, for those of you who aren’t aware, Pauly D is the father to a beautiful little girl named Amabella. While he has a relationship with his daughter now, things weren’t always that way.

Thanks to some serious drama with his one-night stand turned baby mama, Amanda Markert, it took Pauly a long time to gain his rights as a father. Fortunately, Pauly did have the wherewithal to eventually seek legal counsel and he is now able to successfully co-parent with Amanda — something he desperately tried convincing Ronnie Magro-Ortiz to do with his own toxic baby mama, Jen Harley, during the episode.

Through Pauly’s sage advice to Ron, we got to learn a lot more about the DJ’s past struggles. At first, the 38-year-old sat around with the roomies preaching “you’ve got to fight for rights as a father” to the tune of the Beastie Boys song “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)” After all, this is Jersey Shore we’re talking about, so there needs to be a little humor.

However, he managed to snag some alone time with Ron and things got real serious, real fast. As Ronnie cried and threatened to go home after getting into a heated argument with Jen, a producer asked Pauly how he managed to handle his baby mama drama. “How did you do it? At some point you had to be mad,” they inquired. “Mad? I was beside myself. I had to just shape up. I just had to do it. I had to go through the whole process,” Pauly began.

He then went into more detail during a confessional. “I’ve actually gone through what Ronnie’s going through. I got four years experience with it. It was rocky in the beginning and at first, I was like ‘WTF am I going to do?’ But now, I get my parenting time, co-parenting, [and] all the decisions are made together,” Pauly explained. “That could be [Ron], but the first step is the lawyer.”

Well, our fellow guidos and guidettes, it looks like Pauly D has finally gone from pumping his fists to pumping out fatherly wisdom. Sigh. We’re getting old. Well, er, actually, he’s getting old. Here’s hoping Ronnie’s relationship with Jen will one day be as peaceful as Pauly’s is with Amanda!

Be sure to catch the second season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation Thursday nights at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
