He’s keeping it real! Pauly D wants nothing but the best for his Jersey Shore: Family Vacation co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. He weighed in on Ronnie’s tumultuous relationship with baby mama Jen Harley and revealed why he thinks their romance will eventually fizzle out, even though they both care about each other.

“As far as a relationship for them two, I don’t see it in the long run. They butt heads so much,” Pauly D told Us Weekly. The MTV star praised his co-star for putting his 5-month-old daughter, Ariana, first and says that’s what he should continue doing. “Ronnie’s such a great dude, he’ll be a great father. I would like to see him, obviously put the baby first, which he’s doing. But also maybe get some sort of co-parenting thing going.”

After an emotional episode on Aug. 30, Ronnie broke his silence on their relationship status. “For the record, I love my daughter and the mother of my child. The way I felt during that moment isn’t [how] I feel three months later,” the reality star explained following a dispute with Jen. “Unfortunately, this season caught a rough patch in both our lives [but] we stuck together and got through it. Ariana grows up in a happy home, regardless of what is shown and edited for TV. She has two amazing parents who love her.”

It looks like Ronnie will have plenty of support going forward, especially from Pauly, who has made the best out of his own co-parenting situation. “I told Ronnie the same advice I got: to sleep when you can,” he told Us Weekly. “But he tells me he’s got a good system now. He wakes up in the middle of the night and then feeds her, changes her her, and then goes back to bed. He has it down to a science.” Way to embrace daddy duty, Ron!

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs on MTV Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
