Just three months after Pretty Little Liars ended its seven-season run, Freeform announced that it’s bringing back two of its leading ladies for a spin-off! Sasha Pieterse — who’s currently kicking butt on Dancing With the Stars — and Janel Parrish will reprise their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal for the new series, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

According to E! News, the show is based off books by PLL author Sara Shepard and takes place in the fictional town of Beacon Heights. A description from the network reads, “Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.” Needless to say, we’ll be watching.

Karey Burke, the executive vice president of programming and development at Freeform, added, “At Freeform, we are committed to delivering shows that push boundaries and become a part of our viewers’ lives. Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon so it’s no wonder fans wanted more. We can’t wait to continue Marlene King’s rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did.”

Janel initially teased the announcement on her Twitter, writing, “I got some fun news coming soon…” later tweeting, “Guess the news is out.” After the finale in June, the 28-year-old said, “Our PLL Army has been so incredible since day one and I know that they’ll always be our army and they’ll always remember the show and it will always live on in that way.”

This marks the second attempt at a spin-off. The 2013 series Ravenswood focused on Tyler Blackburn’s character Caleb Rivers. It was canceled after just one season.
