Last week, everyone got excited about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, and naturally, there was speculation over who would be in the wedding party, with talk of fellow actress Priyanka Chopra serving as the brunette beauty’s maid of honor. But, as it turns out, Prince William may not even get the role of best man, despite his younger brother holding the title at his 2011 wedding.

Don’t fret, the two haven’t had a falling out! Royal weddings traditionally don’t have “best men,” but the groom can appoint a number of “supporters.” Prince William actually broke protocol when he named Prince Harry as his best man. “The best man or best men are officially called supporters,” British and European royalty expert Marlene Koenig told Town & Country. “William will probably be Harry’s supporter.”

However, a source told Us Weekly that Harry already asked if William would stand beside him on the big day. “Harry has several close guy friends, but there’s no way he would ask anyone but William to take on the top job,” the insider revealed.

It’s also believed that the redheaded royal’s niece, Princess Charlotte, and nephew, Prince George, will play important roles in the nuptials. Since the announcement last week, more details surrounding the event have been released. The couple will tie the knot in May 2018 and the Queen has approved St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle as the location for the ceremony.
