After nearly 10 years together, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen called it quits this summer. But the Hart of Dixie star wasted no time moving on — when it comes to her living arrangements, that is. The Cali born and bred actress, 36, recently paid $3.25 million for a storied home in Pasadena’s upscale Linda Vista neighborhood.

Just how storied is it? The pad has its own name, “Ralph’s House,” after its original owner, who was heir to the Ralphs grocery chain. Built in 1950 by famed architect Gregory Ain with a backyard designed by renowned landscape architect Garrett Eckbo, the 3,678-square-foot mansion was also designated a local landmark in 2014. No wonder Rachel agreed to pay more than a quarter million above the original asking price! She and daughter Briar, 3, now have freedom to roam around the house’s six bedrooms and four bathrooms, plus multiple plant and rock gardens. A uniquely shaped pool, meanwhile, offers respite from the heat, with stunning mountain and city views to be enjoyed from a deck that juts out over the hillside. “All the life b.s. that happens doesn’t matter,” says Rachel. “You want to be happy, you want your kid to be happy.” It looks like she’s well on her way!
