"I always said I would know the person I'm supposed to be with is someone I couldn't picture my life without," she said before Bryan got down on one knee. "I just want to tell you I love you, I'm in love with you and I can't imagine not spending my life with you."
And Bryan's choice did not disappoint. The Miami native went with a pear-shaped sparkler from the famed jewelry designer, which the ABC series teased on Twitter. "I'll go with this one, Neil," he said before proposing.
However, seeing how Rachel turned down runner-up Peter after he refused to get down on one kneee, fans were convinced Rachel was only after an engagement ring — and not love. "BECAUSE RACHEL LINDSAY SETTLED WITH A MAN WHO DOESNT TRULY LOVE HER ALL OVER A F--KING PEAR SHAPED RING WITH A THIN A-- BAND," one fan tweeted before another added, "#RachelLindsay has the ring... and now she has Brian's mother. I hope getting a ring was worth it."
Ouch. However, the couple looks happier than ever, with Bryan proposing for a second time on the finale. Only time will tell if they make it down the aisle, with the pair teasing a winter wedding.
“It was like an out-of-body experience to hear the words that he was saying to me,” Rachel told People magazine. “I blanked out on what I was saying — I meant it and it was from the heart, but it was just so surreal that it was happening. I mean we’re in Spain, we’re on top of this castle. I’m standing in front of the man of my dreams, and now he’s about to get down on one knee. And so the moment he did it, it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is happening!’ I couldn’t do anything but scream. Like that’s all I could do, I was so happy.”
She continued, "Bryan is like my best friend, like I can not imagine him not in my life.” Love The Bachelorette? Be sure to join our Bachelorette Facebook group to chat about all the latest updates, exclusive interviews, and juicy gossip!
