Could Selena Gomez‘s new song “Bad Liar” be a dig at her ex, Justin Bieber?

The 24-year-old dropped her latest single early this morning (complete with a music video on Spotify), and fans are already talking about the meaning behind her lyrics.

“I was walking down the street the other day/Trying to distract myself/Then I see your face/Ooh, you got someone else,” the brunette beauty sings. She then goes on to call herself a “bad liar” for trying to hide her true emotions.

Although Selena is currently dating fellow musician The Weeknd, her complicated history with Justin remains a popular topic of conversation, especially since — according to multiple sources — he’s partly to blame for her stay in rehab last year.

“While Selena does suffer from lupus and other health issues, that’s not the reason she went to rehab. Her biggest addiction is Justin,” an insider told Life & Style in December after the Disney Channel alum was forced to cancel part of her tour to attend treatment for three months.

And her friends are grateful he’s out of her life. “She became a different person around him,” the insider added. “She was extremely jealous and possessive and felt like she had to keep up with him to keep him. So she would drink and smoke, and then she got into weed and partying.”

Selena’s mom, Mandy, even contacted Justin personally, asking him to keep his distance. “Her family feels that no one has ever gotten under her skin like Justin and, ultimately, he affected her in a deeply negative way,” a different source told Life & Style.

But, the duo could come face-to-face at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards. “Selena’s happier than ever, but she doesn’t want to rub it in Justin’s face,” a third source admitted.
