Meghan Markle’s Close Friend Serena Williams Visits Baby Archie for the First Time

It should come as no surprise that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s first child, baby Archie, is quite the popular kid — and that became even more evident recently when Serena Williams met the little one for the first time.

“Serena loved meeting Archie and catching up with Meghan,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “She gave her pal lots of tips about motherhood before Archie was born and thinks she’s an amazing mom. She’s really impressed by how Meghan’s such a natural with Archie.”

The tennis great, 37, didn’t arrive to see the Duchess of Sussex, also 37, and her child empty-handed either. “Serena bought Archie a cute little outfit amongst other gifts. She thinks he’s absolutely adorable,” the source says.

Little Archie has already met his great grandmother Queen Elizabeth, her husband Prince Philip and even the late Princess Diana‘s older sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, but there will be more notable faces who will be making their way to meet the royal baby soon.

“Now that Archie has been introduced to Harry’s family. Meghan’s starting to invite close friends to Frogmore,” the insider reveals. “George [Clooney] and Amal [Clooney] are also set to visit.”

Serena has been one of the former actress’ closest pals. In fact, the athlete was even at Meghan’s massive baby shower in New York City in February — a celebration that is said to have cost upwards of $200,000. “Planning something like that takes a lot of effort,” the 23-time Grand Slam winner once explained to Business of Fashion. “I’m a perfectionist, so I’m like, ‘Let’s make it perfect.’”

The big-time baby event took place at Manhattan’s The Mark Hotel in the penthouse suite. It consisted of dining in five-star restaurants, visiting museums and even shops around town, although it was all worth it in the end.

“She’ll be the best mom, for sure,” Serena gushed to E! News a couple of months after the baby shower.

It is so wonderful to see the amazing friends that Serena and Meghan have become. We look forward to seeing the pair continue to bring joy into each other’s lives.
