This is devastating. Fans of The Real Housewives of Dallas know that Brandi Redmond suffered a miscarriage, which she revealed to Stephanie Hollman when they became friends again — but in an exclusive interview with Life & Style, the blonde beauty shared that she, herself, also underwent the heartbreaking experience.

“I had one before my babies. I thought I was pregnant and had an ultrasound and then lost the baby shortly after. But my doctor said a lot of times, it was so early, that people don’t even know they’re pregnant and most people don’t even realize it,” she explained. “I think sometimes women feel like people don’t get it or they feel like people are like, ‘Oh, I can’t mourn this’ — you have to let yourself grieve any loss and I also think you have to talk to somebody. Don’t feel like because you never had the baby that it’s not a loss and let people know that you’re hurting.”

Stephanie also revealed how she felt after learning this happened to her friend. “It was so hard. I think anyone that’s had a miscarriage — I had a miscarriage a long time ago — you know, you see the baby’s heartbeat, and you love that baby, and you get so excited and wrap your head around everything. When you lose it, it’s literally like a death of a child. It’s very hard and it’s like you lost something that even though you couldn’t see it, you could feel it and it’s a hard loss, so I felt bad for her because I think that friends should be there for the hard times.”

Stephanie has two sons, Chance and Cruz with her husband, Travis, while Brandi shares two daughters, Brinkely and Brooklyn, with her hubby, Bryan. Brandi has been open about possibly wanting another baby. “I think if you want something like that, your heart is telling you that maybe you feel like you’re missing being a mother, you know, or you feel like you want to expand your family — then I think you should look into it and at least explore it,” Steph said of her bestie wanting to expand her family. “There comes a point in life where that chapter is over and the kids get older and they’re having children of their own. I feel like you have to explore that. I don’t think you want to live life with regrets.”

The Real Housewives of Dallas airs on Monday nights at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.
