Relax, Guys — Kim Kardashian Says Those Feud Rumors With Ex-Assistant Steph Shepherd Are #FakeNews
There’s nothing wrong with moving on, y’all! Back in November 2017, Kim Kardashian made the difficult decision to fire her personal assistant of four years, Stephanie Shepherd, saying during an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that Steph’s close bond with sister Kourtney Kardashian was “unprofessional.”
Naturally, fans couldn’t take the exchange at face value — there just had to be a feud, right? Well, as it turns out, nope! It was all #FakeNews. Kim took to Twitter on Sunday, Sept. 16 to set the record straight.
“Please stop with this fake narrative,” she wrote. “She was NEVER my nemesis. We simply stopped working together but we have always remained super close friends.”

Yet this isn’t the first time the mother-of-three and her ex-employee attempted to clear the air. During an interview on Kim’s official KKW app earlier this year, the former duo opened up about their relationship.
“You guys, we’ve never had a feud. She wanted to go in a different direction. I respect that. I love giving that encouragement to whoever I’m working with. People just took it, just because people stop working together doesn’t mean that they’re feuding and stop being friends,” Kim began.
“I don’t get the headlines like that. To see that, the one thing though I did feel I know it’s not true, so in my soul, if it were true I’d be freaking out, but to know like no, I talk to you like every week,” Steph added. Well, there you have it — just two ladies who moved on from their professional relationship but still remained close friends. What a concept!
Now, some time later, it’s looking like Steph has a brand new, much more glamorous gig. The former assistant is officially a model! Steph launched a campaign with the jewelry brand 8 Other Reasons called “WOMAN,” and the pics are seriously stunning. She’s a total natural.
“Introducing WOMAN ft @steph_shep,” the brand wrote on its Instagram page alongside some gorgeous campaign photos of the new model. Steph also took to her personal Instagram to share the pics, and she’s clearly proud of this new endeavor. The collection includes a variety of statement earrings and rings with prices ranging from $27 to $72. So, pretty affordable!
“I think when you’re an assistant everyone wants to know that, like: ‘What the heck are you gonna do after this?’ And I’m just like, what do you mean?” Steph told Refinery29 back during her assistant days. “And then that starts to put the pressure on me and makes me freak out a little and start to wonder, where is this going? Oh God, how will I ever leave this family? But I’ve realized that I just need to utilize this position and learn as much from all of these experiences and grow as much as I can. Honestly, I’m just going to see where it takes me. I’m learning. I’m helping Kim Kardashian run her empire. I’m also building something for myself.”
It looks like Steph’s taking what she learned from the Kardashians and putting it toward her own empire! Is she about to take over the jewelry and fashion world? If so, she certainly learned from the best. While she may have cut professional ties with the high profile family, Steph’s future remains brighter than ever and so does her friendships with the Kardashian ladies.
