Tara had her eyes set on becoming an Olympic athlete at a young age. According to Britannica, the Pennsylvania native began roller skating classes when she was just three years old and started taking private lessons not long after. By the age of nine, she won the gold medal at the national championships.

By that time the talented youngster had been ice-skating for about three years, and when her family moved to Houston, TX in 1991, she focused on that sport. The rest, they say, is history!

The blonde beauty announced her engagement to television producer Todd Kapostasy in December 2015, and the two got married on June 24, 2017. "It was the best day of my life," Tara told People magazine at the time. "Obviously winning an Olympic gold medal for my country in 1998 was a very proud moment for me, but nothing competes with finding someone you love to spend the rest of your life with!"

She added, "The ceremony was our favorite moment, especially hearing Todd's vows, they were so beautiful. And just standing there in that moment made it the best day of our lives."
