It’s been three years since Kim Kardashian called Taylor Swift a “snake” in front of millions of people on the internet, but now the pop star is reflecting on those hard times.

“A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled is a very isolating experience,” she told Vogue in an interview published on Thursday, August 8. “I don’t think that there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly.”

The 29-year-old detailed that she was feeling pretty low during that time period. “When you say someone is canceled, it’s not a TV show,” she explained. “It’s a human being. You’re sending mass amounts of messaging to this person to either shut up, disappear or it could also be perceived as, ‘kill yourself.’”

As fans recall, Kim, 38, slammed the “Shake It Off” singer in July 2016 after Kim’s hubby, Kanye West, featured controversial lyrics about Tay in his hit single “Famous.”

In the song, he raps the lyrics, “For all my Southside n—gas that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / Goddamn / I made that bitch famous.”

Despite claims that Taylor approved the tune beforehand, her rep said, “Kanye did not call for approval but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account.”

At the 2016 Grammy Awards, the Pennsylvania native shaded the dad of four in her acceptance speech. “I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she said. Afterward, the KUWTK starlet tweeted, “Wait, it’s legit National Snake Day?!?!? They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days!”

Ultimately, the Grammy winner came out on top since she poured her heart and soul into her Reputation album. “I realized I needed to restructure my life because it felt completely out of control,” she said. “I knew immediately I needed to make music about it because I knew it was the only way I could survive it. It was the only way I could preserve my mental health and also tell the story of what it’s like to go through something so humiliating.”

These days, it seems like Taylor is over the drama. “We’re not going to go straight to gratitude with it,” she said. “Ever. But we’re going to find positive aspects of it. We’re never going to write a thank you note.”

Fans are excited for her new album called Lover — which comes out at the end of August — and they are looking forward to hearing more upbeat songs from Taylor. “There are so many ways in which this album feels like a new beginning,” she confessed. “This album is really a love letter to love, in all of its maddening, passionate, exciting, enchanting, horrific, tragic, wonderful glory.”
