Every season, Bachelor producers find contestants with a few skeletons in their closets — and Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s group of ladies is no different. The cast competing for the former race car driver's heart is full of secrets, including a recent divorce, reality TV past, and a few speeding tickets.
Arie, 36, already handed out his final rose — if you can't wait to find out who Arie picks, we got you covered with some juicy spoilers — but that didn't stop Life & Style from looking into a few of the girls who are competing in this season of the reality dating competition. And will be keeping our fingers crossed that Arie doesn't end up with a fiancée who isn't there for the ~right reasons~. Keep scrolling for all the secrets we have uncovered!
The 27-year-old marketing manager is a dating show vet! She appeared on the 2016 series Ex Isle, where she hooked up with Lucas Yancey, aka the "Whaboom" guy from last season of The Bachelorette. "She's looking for fame," an insider told Life & Style exclusively. "She's definitely here to play the game. The other girls need to watch their backs." Luckily for Arie, Brittane was among the girls who went home on night one.
The 33-year-old made it very clear to Arie she was not a fan of nicknames, but she failed to mention she originally auditioned for Nick Viall's season of the show. She was supposed to be on Nick's season, a source revealed, but "no one really knows why it didn't happen." We'll be keeping an eye on the event designer this season...
Arie has a pageant queen in his midst. The 26-year-old beauty who currently resides in South Florida was actually Miss Massachusetts Teen USA in 2008 and was named Miss Massachusetts in 2014. However, she has bigger dreams than a crown. While competing in Miss USA, Caroline revealed she wanted "to one day have [my] own TV show. Well, this is a good start.
If Arie ends up with the Florida real estate agent, he'll have to do the driving. From 2009 to 2015, Ashley got five traffic citations for offenses ranging from speeding to failure to yield. She was even sued by a couple who claimed she injured them in a collision; they later settled. Arie, take the wheel.
The Utah-based photographer will have to find the perfect time to tell Arie she was previously married. The 23-year-old wed her high school sweetheart in 2016, and they split just five months later. Their divorce was finalized in February, and if you do the math, that is just seven months before filming started on the show. Her ex-husband also made it very clear to Life & Style that he wants Maquel back.
"One of my mistakes was letting her go,” he said. “If the option ever became available [to get back together], I would not be opposed to that. There was no infidelity, [and] she was never rude or malicious or anything of the sort. It was just two young people that were the best of friends that got married a bit too early." Talk about a love triangle.
