Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Just Covered Up His Iconic Bull Tattoo — and We’re Kinda Heartbroken

We’ll miss ya, little guy! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has bid farewell to the iconic “brahma bull” tattoo on his right arm by covering it up with a massive image of a fractured bull skull, designed by tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado.

The former WWE superstar, 45, took to Instagram on Friday, Aug. 11, to show fans his updated ink. Despite our heartbreak over saying goodbye to the baby bull we were so used to seeing on The Rock’s bulging bicep, the Baywatch actor revealed the special meaning behind his new body art.

Evolution of the bull. Blood, sweat & years. After 3 sessions and 22hrs of tattooing with world renowned @NikkoHurtado, the story's almost done.. Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. From the cracks and heavy damage in the bone representing life's hard lessons I've learned over the years. Just like scars and wrinkles – I'm so grateful to have 'em because they're earned. To the horns, not pointing up or out to the side, but pointing straight ahead representing relentless energy and forward progress. The core and anchor of this image is in the eye. Look closely and you'll find the life, energy, power and you'll feel the MANA (spirit). The eye tells the story of a disruptive positive energy always ready to dent the universe. Depending on the light and angle, sometimes the energy's subtle and sometimes it's glaring. But it's always alive and ready to disrupt the universe and love and protect my family and all things I love with intense passion and gratitude. Cheers to living, learning, evolving and growing. And to the positive disrupters ready to dent the universe. #EvolutionOfTheBull #TheDisrupter #TheMana #NowLetsBreakOutTheTequila

TBH, the Moana star’s updated tat only adds to his DILF factor. Days before flaunting his new ink, The Rock showed off his recently grown-out salt-and-pepper beard (which we really hope he keeps!) in a series of sexy selfie videos.

The Ballers actor decided to put his scruff on display with an exciting message about his career. “Jus deliverin’ a package of gratitude. ?? @HBO has officially picked up #Ballers SEASON 4,” he wrote. “And a big congrats to @IssaRae and the cast/crew of #Insecure! Thank you all out there for rockin’ with us and diggin’ our show. Luv and appreciate you and I’m grateful to the bone.”
