She's known for her very quirky attire and last night's look was no different!

Hitting the stage for her rendition of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" on last night's The Voice, contestant Melanie Martinez debuted her black and blue two-toned look. (FYI, coach Cee Lo Green — who was one part of Gnarls and sang that song originally — was left very impressed by Melanie's performance!)

Luckily for our readers, we have the show's hairstylist and makeup artist, Shawn Finch and Darcy Gilmore, respectively, telling us just how they created the perfect image for the hopeful.

"Melanie didn't just sing 'the blues' this week, she wore them proudly on her head!" Shawn tells Life & Style. "She's been very firm about keeping her two-tone (half blonde/half black) signature locks…yet last night, she completely opened up about her unique look and dared to embrace changing hues by adding a new shade of blue."

"We straightened Melanie's hair with a flat iron and then took small sections of her existing blonde hair and added blue liquid make-up with an airbrush gun section by section (starting from the bottom and working up to the top of her head) until all the blonde covered," he says, adding, "We then took glitter that comes in an aerosol spray can to both her blue and black sides for shine and sparkle. The resulting look was fun, sassy, unique and pure Melanie."

As for her dramatic makeup?

"We started with a clean face and applied primer," Darcy shares with Life & Style. "We selected two shades of foundation, using a lighter shade in the mid-area of the face and applied a light concealer under the eye near the inner corner, powdered well. Then applied a shadow primer to the eyelid and washed the lid with a light shimmery champagne colored shadow. Afterwards, we applied a copper color in the crease then intensified the lid with another layer of the shimmery champagne shadow and with a damp brush, took frosty gold shadow and patted it in the middle of the lid."

Darcy adds, "We used a black liner, created a thin top liner and extended the cat eye slightly. Then continued the line under the eye (2/3 into the eye) and took a dark shimmery brown to soften the line underneath. With a very sparkly white shadow with a wet eyeliner brush, we applied to the inner 'V' of the eye."

To finish off the eye look, Darcy says they applied a spiky strip lash on top and mini individual lashes beneath the eye as it lowers.

"We applied mascara all over and filled in and defined the brows by setting with a clear brow gel," she says.

As for her cheeks and accentuated lips, "The color comes in form of blush. It's a shimmery light pink and we applied it high on the cheekbone. After carefully lining the lips with a burgundy lip pencil, we filled it in slightly then applied a deep red/burgundy color. Red has been a color we come back to on Melanie since it's dramatic and compliments her huge brown eyes."
