It's been a year since Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie was involved in a scary ATV accident that left her hospitalized. But we’re happy to report that the nine-year-old is doing just fine in 2018!

“1 year miracle anniversary,” Jamie Lynn wrote on Instagram on Feb. 5, alongside a picture of her daughter in the hospital. “Thank y’all for your prayers during that time, and thank you, God, for my beautiful family.”

The horrifying accident could have had a much different outcome, of course. On Feb. 5, 2017, Maddie Briann Aldridge was driving a Polaris ATV near her home in Kentwood, LA. The then-eight-year-old swerved to avoid a drainage ditch, and that’s when the vehicle flipped, trapping her underwater in a pond as her mom and stepdad Jamie Watson tried to free her from the safety belt. Paramedics arrived shortly after, freed the little girl, and airlifted her to the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.

She was discharged from the hospital five days after the accident, and on Feb. 25, Jamie Lynn posted an amazing update. “So blessed to say that my daughter has fully recovered, and returned to all her normal activities,” the Zoey 101 alum wrote. “I want to thank everyone again for all their prayers…God truly blessed us with a miracle.”

When Maddie turned nine in December, she celebrated with the first responders who saved her life, as fans saw on Instagram. “The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie, but thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together,” Jamie Lynn, 26, captioned a snapshot of the trio. “This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that.”

That’s not the only good news Jamie Lynn has shared recently. On Christmas Eve, she announced that she’s pregnant with her second child, her first with her husband of nearly four years. We’re happy the fam has so many reasons to celebrate… but we do hope they keep the ATVs in the garage!
