After a two-week hiatus following a truly devastating episode, fans want to know: what time is This Is Us on tonight?

The hit NBC drama returns at 9 p.m. ET following The Voice. Episode 17 — aptly titled “What Now?” — will focus in part on Randall’s (Sterling K. Brown) grief after the death of his biological father William (Ron Cephas Jones). A sneak peek shows the weather trader starting to pack up his family member’s things as he grapples with how to keep the Memphis-born musician’s legacy alive.

After bawling our eyes out during the emotional death scene, Milo Ventimiglia — who plays Randall’s adoptive dad Jack Pearson — assured us that we at least won’t have to witness his passing this season, though we know it’s coming eventually.

“I really feel people are going to be crushed when that moment comes,” the 39-year-old told Us Weekly. But when asked if the moment had been filmed yet, the actor replied, “No, we’re a ways off.”

Milo added, “What I appreciate is that audiences are interested, and they’re thinking, they’re thinking, they’re thinking. If there’s one thing that I always hoped our show could do, [it’s] get people to think — impart change in their life, impart positivity.”

But the Gilmore Girls alum also teased that the trouble brewing between Jack and his wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has barely scratched the surface. “We’ve started to see the cracks of a relationship, a 20-plus year relationship, appear, and we know we’re going into uncharted territory with this once bright-eyed, loving couple that now, 20 years later, are trying to stand on their own individual feet, not collective for the family,” he told E! News.

“We’re going down a path and on a road that is going to scare a lot of people with regards to the sanctity of the relationship of Jack and Rebecca.”

Uh oh, we know what that means… a whole lot more tissues!
