Tonight, Dec. 4, marks the second episode of MTV's new show, Floribama Shore, but unlike its predecessor Jersey Shore, it's not entirely clear by the name where the series is filmed. Before we give our souls over to this new obsession, we've answered some important questions below, and take a look at the Floribama Shore cast!

Where is Floribama Shore filmed?

The show is set in the Florida Panhandle along the beach that stretches all the way to Alabama — hence Floribama — but films in Panama City Beach, FL. Two of the cast members, Kortni Gilson and Nilsa Prowant, actually hail from the waterfront town, but the rest of the gang comes from South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and other parts of Florida.

Is Floribama Shore scripted?

Like any reality show, we bet storylines are conceived by producers to stir up drama. MTV describes the series as "the story of eight young adults who come to spend the summer in the hottest beach town on the Gulf Coast… to party it up and put the real world on hold for just a little bit longer."

"But each is armed with incredible life experiences and standing at a crossroads, whether it’s ending a relationship, tasting independence for the first time, or trying to escape the past. This coming of age story captures the very real thrill and angst of being young and trying to figure out the future with a group of people you’ll come to call family."
