In case you missed it, Dancing With the Stars' 24th season premiered on March 20, and one beauty has already caught our eyes: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne.
The blonde bombshell, whose real last name is Girardi, is a popular singer, known specifically for her dance club music. Her singing career skyrocketed with the release of her debut single “Roller Coater” that topped the Billboard Top 100 for dance club songs in 2007.
However, in 2015 she expanded her fanbase after becoming a cast member on the sixth season of RHOBH.
The 45-year-old’s talents are widespread, and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she talked about her changing career.
“[I’m an] entertainer. You know, I entertain whether I’m on Housewives, or whether I’m on Dancing With the Stars, or whether I’m on Young and the Restless. My goal is to get out there,” she said. “I need to put a smile on people’s faces, make them feel what I’m feeling, let them forget their troubles. Whether I’m performing in a club or onstage as Erika Jayne, whether I’m making records, whether I’m doing TV, I’ve got to entertain, and I have to take people away from their space and bring them into mine.”
Along with “entertainer,” Erika is also a wife and mom.
She married 77-year-old Thomas Girardi back in 1999. Her hubby is a famous lawyer who is a founding partner of Girardi & Keese, a law firm based in downtown LA. Though the couple has no children together, Erika has a son, Tommy Sizzo, 25, from a previous relationship.
While she lives much of her life center stage, she keeps her relationship with her son out of the spotlight. But in an interview with Bravo’s Daily Dish, the reality star gushed about her only child, who's a cop.
"I'm very proud of my son being in law enforcement, but obviously it can get a little nerve racking," she said. "It's a dangerous profession. I've known my son was going to be in law enforcement from the time he could walk and talk. That's all he's ever wanted and that's kind of your role as a parent is to honor who your children really are."
Though Erika can now count herself as successful, life hasn’t always been easy for her. Before meeting her husband, she was forced to raise Tommy as a single parent.
"Single moms have it tough. It's hard. It's exhaustive, but at the same time it's very rewarding," she said. "You know, especially now that he's older and he's doing so well. I think that really makes the struggle worth it."
