Sometimes, friendships aren’t forever. That ended up being the case for longtime Kardashian-Jenner BFF Larsa Pippen, who recently broke her silence on the rumors she was hooking up with Khloé Kardashian‘s boyfriend, Tristan Thompson — which allegedly ended her close relationship with the famous family. But how, exactly, did the Chicago native end up in the inner circle in the first place?

Well, for starters, Larsa used to be married to NBA legend Scottie Pippen. The pair got hitched back in 1997 and they share four beautiful children — Sophia, Scotty, Justin, and Preston. In addition to her hubby’s fame, Larsa had a brief moment in the limelight when she starred on season 1 of The Real Housewives of Miami in 2011. She has also been featured on several episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians over the years.

As to how she met Kim Kardashian and the gang? Well, the story still remains somewhat of a mystery. It might just be one of those rich people befriending other rich people things, you know? That said, they have supported each other for several years since their friendship began.

Back in 2016, Larsa and Scottie almost called it quits on their marriage after 19 long years together. At the time, she cited Kim and her family as a source of comfort. The reality star and the athlete eventually did break off their 21-year marriage in 2018 when Larsa filed for divorce. Their case is reportedly still active.

In July 2018, Kim said that Larsa was one of her go-to ladies for parenting advice. “I will usually go to one of my best friends Larsa Pippen — because she has four kids — for mom advice,” she told E! News at the time.

However, it seems the KUWTK star isn’t going to the reality star for advice any longer. She and her sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian have distanced themselves from Larsa.  “No, they’re not friends anymore, but Kim feels that there’s really no reason she needs to air their issues publicly. Kim didn’t,” an insider told In Touch in November 2020 after Larsa addressed their relationship on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast.

“There was a time when Larsa and the Kardashian girls felt like they were sisters,” the source added. “Their bond was really close and they spent time with their kids, too, so losing that friendship was hard on the whole family.”

As far as the rumor about the former Bravo star and the Cleveland Cavaliers player, Larsa maintained that she dated Tristan before Khloé did and introduced him to the Kar-Jenner family — but that nothing further happened once he and Khloé started a relationship. “It’s hurtful people think that I hooked up and trying to ruin Khloé’s life,” the starlet said on the podcast in early November. “Dude, I would never do that. That’s not even my personality. My personality is all about love and support and I’ve been there with them through everything.”
