According to a source, female actresses will be wearing all black to the 2018 Golden Globes as a form of protest amid the numerous sexual assault scandals that have rocked Hollywood since early October. The news was revealed on the Dec. 14 episode of The Morning Breath, which is co-hosted by sisters Jackie and Claudia Oshry.

“All of the female actresses and attendees, or most of them at least, who are going to the Golden Globes, are standing in solidarity together in a form of protest. They are all going to be wearing black obviously to protest the injustices that have been taking place in Hollywood since forever,” Jackie shared.

“I feel like they’re all just using this as an excuse to wear black because they want to wear black, but it’s, like, frowned upon,” Claudia later joked. Several sources also confirmed the report to People magazine.

The news comes hours after Salma Hayek wrote a scathing op-ed in the New York Times about “monster” Harvey Weinstein. “I don’t think he hated anything more than the word no,” the 51-year-old said. “No to letting him watch me take a shower. No to letting him give me a massage. No to letting a naked friend of his give me a massage. No to letting him give me oral sex. No to my getting naked with another woman. No, no, no, no, no…”

The former movie mogul broke his weeks-long silence to deny the Frida star’s claims. “All of the sexual allegations as portrayed by Salma are not accurate and others who witnessed the events have a different account of what transpired,” he said in a statement.

One of the women participating in the protest will no doubt be Meryl Streep, who is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama. She previously said of the Miramax co-founder, “The disgraceful news about Harvey Weinstein has appalled those of us whose work he championed, and those whose good and worthy causes he supported. The intrepid women who raised their voices to expose this abuse are our heroes.”
