Saved by the hottie.
Nearly 20 years after Mark-Paul Gosselaar said goodbye to his character Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell – the 39-year-old proves he’s just as handsome as ever.
The actor was photographed filming shirtless scenes on the beach with Breckin Meyer for their TNT show Franklin & Bash in Malibu, Calif. on March 12. Warning: it's hard not to stare at his six-pack abs.
Cue a collective sigh. Finished? Okay, moving on!
Even though Mark-Paul says the hit 90s series that made him famous is not “a great show” because “the writing is kind of hokey … it’s very much a piece of that time,” he had no problem reprising his role on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in 2009 [see below].
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the entire cast will be getting back together for a TV reunion anytime soon — even after Jimmy Fallon tried to make it happen.
“It’s not something I want or need to do, and a few of us feel the same way,” says Tiffani Thiessen, who played Mark-Paul’s onscreen girlfriend Kelly Kapowski. “We’re all doing our own thing. Jimmy’s never called me personally, only his producers. He might be a little harder to turn down.”
But don’t completely count it out. In 2008, when asked if there’s a chance for a Zack Attack (the show’s fictional band) reunion tour, Mark-Paul laughed and said “not now,” adding, “but I still have a guitar laying around and you never know.”
Life for the actor is a little different these days compared to his time as the teen heartthrob. He has two children with former wife Lisa Ann Russell. And, earlier this week, it was announced that he’s expecting his third child — his first with Catriona McGinn, whom he married in July 2012.
This much is certain: he looks just as good now as he did at 19. Suh-woon!
