Beware of Kelly Clarkson, y’all! On Oct. 8, one of the newest contestants on Season 15 of The Voice, Zaxai, revealed that the “Catch My Breath” singer once kicked him in the back of the head. No, we’re not kidding! However, the act wasn’t as nearly as aggressive as it sounds. When the Brooklyn native was done singing his impressive rendition of Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love,” he explained to the mother-of-two that they’d met before… sort of.

“I know you, but you might not know me, though,” Zaxai began. TBH, Kelly’s immediate reaction was sheer terror. “I used to work as an usher. You had a concert at Radio City Music Hall — and you accidentally kicked me in the back of my head,” he laughed. “I was trying to keep the aisles clear, you were singing, and I was like ‘Oh man, Kelly Clarkson’s in the building! I’m excited,’ and then boom!”

Of course, Kelly apologized and even walked up to give Zaxai to give him a hug and kiss on the back of the head. That said, the powerhouse vocalist ended up with Jennifer Hudson as his coach. Hmmm, we wonder if that was karma. Just kidding! Jennifer actually blocked Kelly from being able to snag Zaxai.

“What made me turn around was just hearing your beautiful voice. I wanna hear some more of it. That was nice and soulful,” Jennifer explained. “And I’m not going to kick you in the head,” she added. Here’s hoping Zaxai continues to wow audiences on Team J-Hud. Oh, and if he doesn’t sing/dedicate Dean Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” to Kelly at some point this season, we’ll be extremely disappointed.
