A Visual Ode to Snooki’s Pouf, the Missing Ingredient in ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’

Every week I watch Jersey Shore Family Vacation — I do the recaps, there's not really a choice in the matter — and feel wistful of the absence of one particular character. And it's not Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola because I want her to actually live, like, a happy, drama-less life. No, my heart aches missing the Snooki pouf that made those early episodes Jersey Shore just a little bit classier. Truly the Brangelina of it's time (although this was 2009, so was Brangelina the Brangelina of its time?), Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and her pouf were a dynamic duo. Together since the tender age of 16, the Snooki pouf or the "Snookit," undeniably helped make Snickers a star. Unfortunately, it was not going to join her for the full ride to the top.

Feeling like she was living in the shadow of her sky-high hair, Snooki started to put it down…like, in many ways. "I’m over the pouf, just because it’s everywhere, and people always associate me with the pouf," she said in 2011. "I don’t want to be known for just one hairstyle." I mean, people actually originally associated Marie-Antoinette with the pouf, but her and Snooki are basically indistinguishable. In any case, the pouf conjures up a lot of nostalgic feels, so we're looking back to the Snooki pouf's brief and beautiful time in the spotlight.
