Rachael Farrokh first made headlines in May when a video of the anorexic 37-year-old went viral. Now receiving life-saving treatment at a California hospital, her husband shared that she was able to stand for the first time in months!
"#determination," Rod Edmondson captioned the video of his wife, who weighs approximately 40 pounds, using a specialized machine to pull herself up. With a harness around her back and a nurse beside her, the patient can be seen gritting her teeth as she strains to stand.

"Even though she has been working daily through a lot of pain, she has kept her promise and is fighting hard. We thank you for your encouraging words," Edmondson told friends on Facebook.
Following her plea for help, Farrokh received nearly $200,000 in donations to pay for 24-hour care. Although a hospital in Colorado had initially offered to treat her, doctors determined she was too fragile to be flown there from her home in San Clemente, Calif.

Farrokh currently resides in a facility at UC San Diego Medical Center, and staff are hoping to start the refeeding process soon, though they can't give her too many calories. According to Edmondson, too much food could "kick up her metabolism," causing more weight loss.
"We have a lot of work ahead of us but with the love and support we will fight this to recovery!" Edmondson added.
