3 Teens Arrested in Florida After Participating in Viral Door Kick Trend
Three teenagers in Florida have been arrested after they participated in the viral door kick challenge at multiple homes in a neighborhood.
The teens were arrested on November 23 while participating in the TikTok trend, according to WFLA News Channel 8. The trend is a twist on ding dong ditch and encourages participants to kick or bang aggressively on random residential doors before they run away.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the resident of a home on Sweetbrier Branch Lane called police to report a possible burglary in progress. The resident said that someone was “attempting to kick their door in.”
In an audio recording of the call, the resident told authorities that the group of people knocking on her door didn’t appear to have weapons. She then added that her husband had a gun and was prepared to open the door armed, according to the call recording obtained by Good Morning America.

“You guys want to get shot by a homeowner when you’re kicking their door, and they think you’re breaking in to kill them?” an officer was seen asking the teens in a video from the night of the arrests.
One of the teens then replied, “No, sir.”
While sharing details of the night of the incident, the sheriff’s office told GMA that the teens visited multiple homes in the neighborhood where they aggressively kicked on the doors.

The three teenagers – whose names have not been publicly revealed – have been charged with loitering and prowling. Additionally, one teen was also charged with criminal mischief after they caused damage to one of the properties.
“This ‘challenge’ is not a harmless prank,” the sheriff’s office told WFLA News Channel 8 in a statement. “As you heard in the audio, the complainants were armed, waiting at the front door to shoot the possible intruder. Participating in this criminal act has serious and possibly life-changing consequences.”
