Adrienne Bailon’s New Boyfriend Israel Houghton Loses Job as Worship Leader Amid Divorce, Cheating Rumors
Just two days after Adrienne Bailon‘s new boyfriend Israel Houghton defended himself against rumors he cheated on his ex-wife with the Cheetah Girl, sources reveal the gospel singer is out of a job.
According to a representative for Lakewood Church in Houston, the mega-church led by popular pastor Joel Osteen, the 44-year-old was placed on “indefinite leave” last month from his position as worship leader after announcing his divorce from wife of 20 years, Meleasa.

Israel said at the time that he had “failed and sinned” in his marriage, leading many to believe he had been unfaithful. After going public with his and Adrienne’s relationship, the Grammy winner slammed reports that the actress was his mistress.

“I understand that gossip and salacious untrue speculative stories are far more interesting and entertaining than the truth & facts. But, it’s incredibly unfair to allow someone to carry the burden, blame & shame of something they had nothing to do with,” he wrote in a lengthy post on Facebook.
“As I previously wrote in a statement I released a while back, my marriage had been over for quite some time before going public with my divorce announcement,” he explained. “I had not even yet met Adrienne during the time my marriage was falling apart.”
