Casey Anthony Still Thinks Her Dad Had Something to Do With Daughter Caylee’s Murder
Six years after she was acquitted in the death of her only child Caylee, Casey Anthony has resurfaced in the public eye — but what about her parents? George and Cindy Anthony were thrust into the spotlight after their 31-year-old daughter was charged, but ultimately found not guilty, in the murder of her two-year-old daughter. In her first interview since the trial, the “Most Hated Woman in America” seemingly accused her father of killing the toddler.
“After years of silence, Casey Anthony has once again pointed to her father as a suspect in the disappearance and death of his granddaughter Caylee,” George’s attorney, Mark Lippman, said in a statement to Inside Edition. “[He] was vindicated on multiple occasions, [and he] is once again forced to relive the hints, rumors, lies, and allegations. Cindy was the first person to call 911 and report Caylee missing in July 2008 after she and her husband went to pick up Casey’s abandoned car and thought it smelled like a decomposed body. At that point, Caylee had been missing for 31 days. Six months after Cindy’s call, the little girl’s remains were found in a wooded area near the family’s home.

Throughout the trial, the defense team — which was led by lawyer Jose Baez — alleged that Caylee had drowned in the family’s swimming pool and that George had hid her body. This was never proven to be true and George was never charged with a crime.
